The National Monuments Service's description

The subcircular enclosure, marked on the second edition of the OS map, and a number of associated walls are located in boggy pasture on the lower SW slopes of Knocklomena mountain. The enclosing element is a wall of rough construction which survives one to two courses in height. The enclosed area measures 10.5m internally, and is occupied by a small plantation of pine trees. The apparently associated field system (KE091-018----) extends S and W of the enclosure.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 750. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
