The National Monuments Service's description

The opening to a souterrain (KE090-003----), .6m x .75m, is located on the NW face of the hillock. It leads into a drystone-built passage, aligned E-W, which is roofed with lintels. The W end of the passage appears to have collapsed. Local information records a second opening, now closed up, on the SE side of the hillock. This may indicate that a second souterrain passage is aligned at right angles to the first.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 663. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
