The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the S side of a ridge which runs E from Fermoyle mountain, this site commands an extensive outlook to S over Ballinskelligs Bay. The monument is poorly preserved and comprises a single large roof-stone, which overlies a number of collapsed side-stones. The longer axis of the roof-stone, which tilts downwards towards E, lies ENE-WSW. Irregular in plan, it measures 2.85m x 2.07m x .35m. A number of solution pits occur on its upper surface. Three partly visible slabs protrude from beneath this stone. The first, which may represent a collapsed N side-stone, is at least 1.2m long. The second, measuring 1.9m x 1.2m x .2m, may represent a collapsed S side-stone, while the third, a small block measuring .4m x .3m x .1m, located adjacent to the N side-stone, may have functioned as a pad-stone. A quantity of small stones, including some quartz, occurs beneath the roof-stone and may represent field clearance.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 87. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
