The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating pasture, on a rise, overlooking the valley of the Roughty River. A circular area (23.7m E-W; 22.8m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 2.75m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.5m) SSW-N, by a low earthen bank with intermittent breaks N-ENE and by a low scarp ENE-SSW. The bank is covered in overgrowth. Field-clearance rubble has been dumped against the bank externally. The interior is raised (H 1m) above the external ground level to compensate for the hillslope.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
