The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a S-facing slope, at the head of the valley of the Roughty River. This rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1895 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). According to the landowner, it was levelled some time ago. There is a possible souterrain (KE085-005001-) and a possible ogham stone (KE085-005002-) in the interior.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
