The National Monuments Service's description
In rough, boggy pasture, on a S-facing slope, overlooking the headwaters of Kenmare Bay to the S and SW. The enclosure is inaccessible due to a dense overgrowth of furze and gorse. It is indicated on the 1895 OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 5m) and named 'Sheepfold'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
