The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill pasture, on blanket bog, on a S-facing slope overlooking the valley of the Blackwater River and within a network of field boundaries (KE082-050002-). An oval area (8.6m E-W; 7m N-S) defined by the remains of a low, mainly grass-covered, bank (H 0.2m) NE-SW and by a collapsed roughly constructed, drystone wall (T 0.6m; H 0.6m) which protrudes above the surface of the bog SW-NE. An E-W relict field wall adjoins the hut site at N.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
