The National Monuments Service's description

In rough hill grazing on shallow bog, on the steep SE-facing slopes of Caunoge Mountain and overlooking the valley of the Owroe River. A stretch of a mainly curvilinear field wall (T 0.6m; H 0.6m), which protrudes above the surface of the bog, extends intermittently in a NE direction for c. 40m from a hut site (KE080-031----) to the bank of a SE-flowing river. The poorly preserved wall contains some large slabs set at right angles to the line of the wall. (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, 399, no. 1217)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
