The National Monuments Service's description

This site is located on the lower NE slopes of Bentee mountain and commands a fine view of the estuary of the Ferta river to N. An almost oval-shaped area, measuring 6.2m N-S x 7.2m E-W, is enclosed by a fosse and by a poorly preserved external bank. The overall diameter of the site averages 12m. The bank is best preserved at W, where it measures 1.6m wide and rises .25m externally. The fosse is flat-bottomed, varies in width from 1.3m to 2.5m, and averages .5m below the interior of the monument. The site's interior slopes steeply downwards to N. There is no apparent entrance to the site.

The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 441. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
