The National Monuments Service's description
In rough fern and gorse-covered grazing, on the dry, S-facing slopes of Killelane Mountain with views across Dolus Bay to Valencia Island. Intermittent stretches of relict field walls (max. T 0.8m; max. H 0.6m) occur in an area (c. 325m E-W; c. 300m N-S) which is bounded by linear townland boundaries at S and W. The walls are both linear and curvilinear and are often obscured by gorse and ferns. (O'Sullivan and Sheehan 1996, 405, no. 1308)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
