The National Monuments Service's description

In boggy hill pasture, on level ground, at the N-facing precipice of the Devil's Punchbowl on Mangerton Mountain. A cairn (diam. c. 7m; H 0.35m) of compact moss-covered stones, with a smaller cairn (diam. 1.4m; H 0.4m) of loose stones on top of it.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
