The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on the lower N-facing slopes of The Paps of Dana. A slightly raised D-shaped area (dims. 20m E-W) abutting a linear N-S field boundary (L 20m) at W. Indicated as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on the 1894 and 1846 OS 6-inch maps with the W arc incorporated into the field boundary system. In the 1940s it was described as a 'derelict cathairín' with only 'a few stones in a circle' remaining (Schools Manuscript, Co. Kerry). There is another cashel (KE068-022001-), known as 'the City', c. 100m to the NW.
