The National Monuments Service's description
Within a cashel (KE068-022001-) named 'Cathair Craobh Dearg' and known locally as 'The City'. Pilgrims to this site inscribe plain crosses, some of which are encircled, by repeated rubbing on a variety of stones. Such crosses were noted especially at the holy well (KE068-022007-) at S, at the grotto area at NE and at several other areas where pilgrims walk in the course of making 'rounds'.
