The interior slopes down to the SSW and its N half is densely covered with gorse and briars. In the S half of the interior are two grass-covered oval mounds (dims. of the larger mound: 2m E-W; 1.5m N-S; H 0.6m) of earth. In the 1940s it was recorded as a rath '60 feet [18.28m] in diameter with a circular fence 6 feet [1.82m] high on the outside and 10 feet 6 in [3.2m] wide at base [and] 5 feet [1.52m] wide at top' on Michael Carroll's land (Schools Manuscript, Co.
