The National Monuments Service's description
Up to the mid-1970s four fulachta fiadh were visible along a 300m stretch of the W bank of the Gaddagh river. This marshy land was subsequently deep-ploughed, and no apparent trace of the sites survive. They were described locally as horseshoe-shaped mounds which were composed of burnt stone. During the levelling of one, a metal 'boat-shaped' object was discovered. The present provenance of this object is unknown.
