The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a W-facing slope, c. 5m S of a road. A roughly circular area (c. 31m N-S) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 5.6m; int. H 0.85m; ext. H 2.6m). The arc of an outer fosse (Wth c. 2.6m; D 0.7m) is visible S-SW. There is a possible entrance (Wth 2m) at NE. A raised oval area (10m E-W; 4m N-S) was noted in the S half of the interior. This rath is said to have derived its name 'Lissanaffrin' 'from Masses being said there in time of war or persecution of Priests' (OSNB, Kilcummin, no. 3, 27). A monument commemorating the celebration of Mass here and a walled-in area occupies the NW quadrant and overlies the NW arc where the bank of the rath has been removed.
