The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a gentle S-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Glanooragh River to the S. This rath is indicated as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) and named 'Toberaspagher Fort' on the 1846 OS 6-inch map and 'Toberasphagher Fort' (Site of) on the 1894 OS 6-inch map. The remains of the bank of the rath are visible as a low rise along the W arc and may be partly incorporated into the field boundary at E. In the 1840s, this rath was described as 'remarkable' and it was noted that it derived its name 'from a handsome spring well' (KE058-040002-) which 'is in the eastern extremity of it' (OSNB, Kilcredane, 15). There is a possible souterrain (KE058-040003-) in the rath.
