The National Monuments Service's description
This site is located directly above the shoreline near the landward end of Cromane Spit. Access to it was not possible due to an impenetrable overgrowth of gorse. The site is described locally as an unenclosed burial area, of roughly circular plan, which contains rows of uninscribed, upright grave-markers.
The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 992. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
