The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diam. 28.5m
This circular univallate enclosure is situated on a N facing slope overlooking the Lispole valley. It is bisected N-S by a disused field fence, and the enclosure to E of this survives only as a slight eminence. The W half of the site is enclosed to N by a stone wall and to S by an earthen bank, faced with drystone masonry. The former is 1.1m high internally, 3m high externally and .6m wide; the latter is .5m wide and up to 1.6m high. Neither the bank or the wall differ significantly in construction from the adjacent field fences and it is not clear to what extent they represent the original enclosing element.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 424. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
