The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the SW slopes of Caherard Hill, overlooking Ventry Harbour, this large upright slab stands .9m high and is 2.55m long and .25m thick; NNE-SSW. Though the surrounding hill slope is strewn with rock outcrop and loose boulders, this one appears to have been deliberately set standing.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 89. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
