The National Monuments Service's description
This site was marked on the 1st edition of the OS map as a circular enclosure but the depiction on the 2nd edition indicates that the N half had been destroyed and that the S half survived only as a raised platform. The present remains consist of a depression, 25m in diameter, and the outline of the enclosure is preserved for a short distance at E by a curving field boundary fence.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 598. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
