(b) Rock art: This prostrate boulder, measuring 2m x .97m x at least .3m in height, is decorated on its upper surface with a single motif, consisting of a cup-and-circle with a curved radial line passing through a gap in the circle. The boulder has only recently been exposed by turf cutting. (Fig. 13a)

The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 29. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.

In cutaway bog and mountain heath, on a S-facing slope. Good views of Owenalondrig River valley SE-> S->SW and overlooked by mountains and hills S->N->SE. Narrow view of sea at Acres Point to SE and Trá Chathail, to SW. A very rough and fractured, long sandstone conglomerate (dims. 2.15m N-S; 1.10m E-W; max. H 0.30m; long-axis N-S). The decorated surface is flat and narrow (dims. 0.55m N-S; 0.20m E-W), otherwise the stone has a gentle SE-facing aspect. The motifs are very weathered and consist of a penannular cup-and-ring motif (overall diam. 13.5cm; ring Wth 2cm; D 2-3mm; cup diam. 3cm; D 4mm) which has a short curvilinear groove (L 14cm) extending from cupmark to exterior of motif at S. A cupmark (diam. 2.5cm; D 2mm) is located c. 30cm to S; possible traces of a ring around exterior S->W->N, albeit very faint. According to Cuppage (1986, Fig. 13a), the boulder has only recently been exposed by turf cutting.
