The National Monuments Service's description
Toberagilladuff/Tobar an Ghiolla Dhuibh: The site of this holy well is now occupied by a small water reservoir. Ó Danachair (1960, 77) recorded a vague tradition of former devotions and the water reputedly cured stomach ailments. The medieval parish church and possible early ecclesiastical site of Kildrum lies c. 250m to SE (KE043-130----).
Ó Danachair (1960, 77) recorded the following details; 'sheet 43, 064 : 250. "Tobar an Ghiolla Dhuibh" local. Vague tradition of former devotions. The water cured stomach ailments. Giolla Dubh said to be one of three saintly brothers'.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 919. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
