The National Monuments Service's description
Known locally as An Gallán, this low standing stone was not noted by the OS. It is located in rough pastureland, on a SW facing slope at the head of the valley through which a tributary of the Milltown river flows SE towards Dingle Harbour. It stands c. 1.4m high and measures 1.2m x .6m at base; NW-SE.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 137. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
