The National Monuments Service's description

'Located in a marshy field in the foothills of the Slieve Mish mountains are at least five s, with the possibility that about about a dozen more mounds which occur in the field, although less well defined, may also be sites of this type. The field in which they occur is very wet and in all likelihood is prone to flooding in winter. Only the five most obvious ones were recorded. All were distinctive grass-covered mounds, which contain burnt stone and blackened soil. A small stream, which is a tributary of the River Lee, defines the western boundary of the field in which these sites occur.........a low mound, 0.30m in height and 9.00m N/S by 7.00m E/W is situated near the stream. A trough area opens to the north and measures 3.00m N/S by 2.00m E/W. A modern concrete fence post now occupies the centre of the trough area, which is now water filled and is 0.30m below the crest of the mound.'
