The National Monuments Service's description
Lios na nGamhan: Roughly circular cashel KE036-038---- with souterrain KE036-038001- situated on a N facing slope overlooking Tralee Bay.
A souterrain located a little WNW of centre in the interior is now only partially accessible. The removal of a roofing slab has revealed a drystone-built oval chamber but an accumulation of earth and stones beneath the present opening prevents easy access. The chamber measures 2.5m NW-SE x 1.15m NE-SW. The walls incline inwards slightly thus narrowing the chamber to .85m at the level of the 4 roof slabs, c. 0.9m above the present floor level. A .7m wide opening in the SW wall provided access to a drystone-built passage which led away to NW, but this is now completely blocked by collapse after c. 1m. The opening is filled in to within .29m of its lintel which lies .2m below the roof of the main chamber.
