The National Monuments Service's description
Caherbaun/An Chathair Bhán: Situated on the E side of the entrance to Gleann na nGealt, on a fairly steep slope c. 200m from the river. A laneway now traverses the centre of the site which is largely destroyed.
Some possible graves were also noted at that time and it was reputedly used as a children's burial ground.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 731. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
