The National Monuments Service's description
There is no visible trace of the circular cashel marked on the OS maps. It was located c. 300m from the seashore on the broad coastal plain that borders Tralee Bay. It was about 2 chains (c. 40m) in diameter and formed of large stones (OSNB Killiney, book 2, 6). There was reputedly a souterrain within the enclosure and 'large bones were found in it when removing the stones in 1832'.
