The National Monuments Service's description
Poorly preserved ringfort surveyed in 1987 by the Castleisland District Archaeological Survey and described as follows; 'Monument is located at 500ft on a break in sloping West overlooking a sharp drop down in that direction to a narrow tree lined glen. High ground encloses the site to the West, North and East with the only view being over pastureland to the South. The immediate terrain is marshy rough grazing land with pastureland on the upslope to the East.
A circular area 33m East-West by 32m North—South is defined by a scarp to the West and North—West while enclosed elsewhere by a field fence which probably incorporates the remains of an original earthen bank. A section of fosse survives outside the scarp to the North North—West and can also be traced to the East and South—East. To the North—East a very eroded earthen bank survives with the appearance of being ancient measuring 1m high externally and 0.3m internally. To the East and South the fence is squared off and appears to contain little of an original bank. Inside the fence to the East and South runs a drain. The fence to the South is very poorly preserved while heavily overgrown with bushes to the East. No entrance is noticeable.'
