The National Monuments Service's description
This fragment, from one end of an ogham stone, was discovered in a stone fence near a barn at Ballintermon House (Macalister 1945, 159; KE045-052----). It was subsequently removed to University College Cork and is now in Kerry County Museum. According to O'Kelly (annotation on personal copy of Macalister's Corpus) the inscription clearly read: ROGNO. Though the stone was fractured immediately before the R, Macalister suggested that the name should be DROGNO on analogy with an inscription at Ballyandreen (KE045-107----).
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 793.
