The National Monuments Service's description

Cahergal (site of) / Cathair Gheal (white stone fort). This large circular enclosure is marked on the 1841-42 OS map. A fieldbank running NW-SE cuts this site into two unequal parts. On the later map of 1915 it has been levelled and is now only dotted in. This site can now only be traced by the pattern of foliage on the land.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 825. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
