The National Monuments Service's description

This enclosure is situated on low-lying land which is surrounded by bogland. It is roughly rectangular and measures 72m NW-SE and 66m NE-SW. It consists of an enclosing earthen bank; WNE the external height of the bank measures 1m, its width at the base 5m, and the internal height of the bank measures .35m. To the NE the external height of the bank measures 1.75m, its width at the base measures 6.5m and the internal height of the bank .2m. Extending from the N corner of the enclosure is a low, wide semi-circular earthen bank, which curves back into the enclosure towards its NW corner. The width of the bank at its base measures 19m, the external height has a very gradual slope and measures about 1.2m, and the internal height measures .8m. The incurved front of the bank is a distance of 12m from the NW bank of the enclosure. According to the landowner (Mr Stack) there was originally a souterrain (KE016-063001-) in the SW sector of the interior, but no surface trace of this could be found. The interior gently slopes down to the enclosing bank to the S, E and W and the interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 974. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
