The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diameter 34m N-S, 34.6m E-W
Blackpool fort. This univallate rath consists of a circular area enclosed by a well-defined bank and an exterior fosse can be noted for most of the site except to the NE through E to SE. The enclosing earthen bank rises to a maximum of 3.2m externally and 1.4m above the interior, and is on average 6.5m wide at the base. The exterior fosse is c 2m wide and .6m-l.6m deep. The interior is at a higher level than the surrounding land, and access is gained by a c 4m wide entrance to the E.
