The National Monuments Service's description
Internal diameter 35m N-S, 36m E-W
Faha Fort/Lios na Faiche (ringfort of the lawn). This circular univallate rath is situated in the corner of a field. The enclosing earthen bank rises to a maximum height of 4m above the fosse and 2.4m above the interior. The enclosing fosse is steep and U shaped; this can especially be seen W through N to E. It is 1.4m-2.7m wide and .8m-3.8m deep. The interior, which is very overgrown, is at a much higher level than the surrounding land. Mr Royal, the landowner, stated that a few years ago a souterrain (KE014-085001-) was uncovered in the E sector of the interior; this is not now visible.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 482. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
