The National Monuments Service's description
This site appears on the 1841-42 and 1914-15 OS maps as a large circular enclosure, and on the later edition there is a gap in the bank to the SE. Today no surface trace of this site can be seen. However, from the Geological Survey of Ireland aerial photographs, the site can be picked up as a crop-mark and in the centre is a darkened area possibly suggesting some sort of structure.
The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 238. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
