The National Monuments Service's description

Internal diameter 32m N-S, 31m E-W
This roughly circular univallate rath is situated in gently sloping, boggy land and excellent views are afforded in all directions. The site is enclosed by an earthen bank and fosse, the fosse being visible for most of the site. The enclosing bank is well-defined and measures 2.5m high externally, 1.5m high internally and on average 6m wide at the base. The fosse is visible except to the S-SW; it measures between 2m-3.5m in width and .6m below the height of the surrounding land. A 3m wide gap exists to the N.

The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle. Brandon in association with FAS Training and Employment Authority (1995), no. 169. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
