The National Monuments Service's description
A Registered Historic Monument (HM01273). Prominently located at the higher N end of a N-S ridge overlooking Blackhall Castle (KD024-011----) c. 300m to the WSW, and an extensive sand and gravel quarry immediately to the E, S and W. A roughly circular area (diam. 33m) is enclosed by an earthen bank (int. H 1.5m; Wth 2m) with a steep scarp immediately outside, at the base of which a fosse (Wth 6m) and a second, poorly preserved outer bank survive N-E; elsewhere the external bank has been levelled.
