The National Monuments Service's description
According to the OSL (Herity 2002, 23 (67)), 'There was also an old Church (in Haynestown), of which there is not a vestige now remaining. The graveyard (KD019-026002-) in which it stood, has a burial ground fallen into disuse.' Synnott (1899-1902, 455) suggests it may have stood near the 'Castle' (KD019-027----) and may have been 'the Capella de Higginstown'; a church mentioned in a 1637 list (Comerford 1883, 259). Near the S end of a narrow but moderately steep-sided pasture ridge. There is no visible trace of the church. Two cist burials (KD019-009---- and KD019-058----) were previously discovered in the immediate vicinity.
