Eight barrows occupy the fairly level, nettle-covered, narrow upper surface of a short, N-S esker in level pasture, with evidence of extensive former sand/gravel-pit extraction immediately to the N and E. Six contiguous barrows (KD019-001001-, KD019-001002- and KD019-001003-/006/008-/009-) run N-S, in-line at the N end of the esker and are contained in an enclosure (KD019-001004-) which girdles the lower slopes of the esker, while a seventh and eight barrow (KD019-001005-/007-) lies c. 48m slightly down slope, and outside the enclosure, to the S. A large U -shaped area (dims. L. c. 70m N-S) with a straight S side (Wth c. 50m) girdles the lower W, N and E slopes of an esker and is defined by an inner fosse (Wth 3-4m; D 1-1.5m) and a low, outer earthen bank (Wth 4.5m; ext. H 0.7m). At its S end a broader and possibly later inner earthen bank (Wth 7m; int H 0.5m; ext H 1.1m) and outer fosse (Wth 0.9m; D 0.4m) straddles the esker E-W to complete the enclosure. On top of the esker this bank curves around to the N to accommodate a small limekiln.
