The National Monuments Service's description

On a gentle, SW-facing slope in tillage. Described in 1972 as a circular, tree-filled area (diam. c. 55m) defined by a slight, inner earthen bank, and a wide, water-filled fosse, with a causewayed entrance at SE. By 1985 the trees had been cleared, the land had been drained and the monument was reduced to a low, roughly circular rise in a field of barley (SMR file). The monument may have been a rath which was subsequently landscaped by the owners of Bishopscourt House to the E, on whose lands it stood. Visible as a cropmark on a 1995 aerial photo (Osi Orthophoto).
