The National Monuments Service's description
On a short, gentle, SE-facing pasture slope. In 1986, according to the landowner, ploughing uncovered the mortared-stone wall foundations of a square structure (est. dims. L c. 20m; Wth c. 20m), together with mortar fragments bearing the impressions of wickerwork centring (SMR file). A low, almost square earthwork (dims. L 20m N-S; Wth 17m E-W) defined by a low scarp (H 0.1-0.3m) may mark the location of the building, a short distance (8m) to the N of which similar scarps define the S (traceable L c. 32m) and E (traceable L c. 36m) sides of a possibly associated field; suggesting this may be the site of a late-medieval farmstead.
