The National Monuments Service's description
This fulacht fiadh (dims. 6.9m by 0.3m) was identified during the course of archaeological monitoring, which was requested by the Forestry Service as a condition of planning in the preparation of lands for afforestation, in February 2014 (Ref. No. CN62947). It lay c. 20m to the E of a roughly N-S running field drain and was exposed in a test trench. It was composed of heat-shattered stone in a charcoal-enriched silt matrix. After examination the trench was backfilled and a buffer zone was created around the monument in which no trees will be planted (Doherty and Jones 2014).
