The National Monuments Service's description

On flat pastureland, c. 1.2km to the NW of Coole Lough. The megalithic tomb consists of a wedge-shaped chamber (L > 4.5m; Wth 2m at W narrowing to 1.2m at E), aligned NE-SW, which is incorporated in an oval mound. The chamber sides, each of one great slab, decrease in height from W to E and support a massive roofstone. Both ends of the tomb are blocked by modern drystone walls. Two closely set outer-wall stones are exposed beside the S sidestone. Some 2m to the SW of the chamber are two stones, which may be the remains of a flat façade. (Killanin and Duignan 1967, 300; de Valera and Ó Nualláin 1972, 19-20)
