The National Monuments Service's description
This monument came to light during the course of fieldwork on the AranLIFE Farming Project (2014-2018) (see www.aranlife.ie). It is located in the SE corner of a rocky field on the W side of the island. It consists of a subcircular grass-covered mound of earth and stone (8m N-S; 6m E-W; max. H 0.8m) which curves slightly from S through W to N. The ground slopes to the N and E. A spring well is located beyond the field wall to the E suggesting the possibility that this may be a fulacht fiadh but no burnt stone was noted around the mound.
