The National Monuments Service's description
In the NW quadrant of a rath (GA113-145----). This very well-preserved drystone-built souterrain (L >38.3m) consists of four chambers connected by two drop-hole creeps. It is roughly E-shaped in plan and access is gained through a gap at the NNW end of the 1st chamber (L 15m; Wth 1.6m; H 1.5m), which runs NNW-SSE. At SSE this chamber curves to the E where a drop-hole creep (L 2.5m; Wth 0.8m; H 0.75m) accesses the 2nd and 3rd chambers. The 2nd chamber (L 6.1m; Wth 0.8m) extends off the NE end of the creep and runs N-S. At its S end the souterrain dog-legs towards the E and leads into the 3rd chamber (L 7.7m; Wth 1.7m; H 1.4m), which curves slightly and runs E-W. Another drop-hole creep (L 2.1m; Wth 0.75m; H 0.53m) at its E end leads to the 4th chamber (L 6.8m; Wth 1.6m; Wth 1.65m), which runs NNW-SSE. (McCaffrey 1952, 275, no. 1; Korff and O'Connell 1985)
