The National Monuments Service's description
One of four barrows on Athenry golf course (GA083-066----; GA083-067----; GA083-068----; GA083-075----). On E end of a low ridge between the 13th and 14th fairways. Classified as 'bowl-barrow' (Topgr. Files, OPW) but described by Rynne (1991, 28-9) as a 'ring-barrow' (diam. c. 15m) it consists of a circular mound (diam. c. 9.5m), in fair condition, encircled by a fosse and a low external bank. The bank is best preserved from SE to SW and from NW to NNE.
