The National Monuments Service's description

Associated with a moated site (GA083-036001-). Lynch Athy (1913-14, 165-6) recorded ‘another square enclosure’ which was located ‘beyond the ditch [of the moated site] but running up to its bank’. It was plainly visible ‘though only marked in the field by a low bank’. No visible surface trace of it was evident on inspection in September 1983. However, a levelled enclosure (c. 33m ENE-WSW; c. 25m NNW-SSE) is visible on aerial photographs (Google maps 2018, last accessed 27 November 2018) extending off the NW side of the moated site. It is most likely that this is the enclosure to which Lynch Athy (ibid.) was referring. A possible cashel (GA083-072----) also recorded to the W of it by Lynch Athy (ibid.) remains unlocated.
