The National Monuments Service's description

On a prominent rise in grassland. Raised oval rath (NE-SW 29m, NW-SE 19.5m) defined by a bank at SW and elsewhere by a scarp up to 4.5m in height. Adjoining the rath, at a lower level at NE, is an overgrown D-shaped annexe (NNE-SSW 15m). This consists of a low platform defined by a scarp. There is a quarry pit and a probable souterrain (GA046-044001-) within its interior.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
