The National Monuments Service's description
Immediately SE of an ecclesiastical building (GA028-012001-). It consists of a low rectangular platform (N-S 13.5m, E-W 7.7m), the E and S sides of which are not clearly defined; there is a wide shallow external fosse at NE corner. The interior is covered with grave-markers of various sizes. Many are small set stones, but adult graves defined by slabs are also evident in N section. According to local information, children were buried here until quite recently. (Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 385)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
