The National Monuments Service's description

At the base of a steep N-facing hillslope to W of Ballynakill Harbour. The monument, very ruined, consists of a chamber (L 3m, Wth 1.1m), aligned NW-SE, with a very tall backstone at NW and transversely set jamb at SE. The remains are those of the rear chamber of a court-tomb. A pitched-out stone, 2m to SE of the chamber, may be a displaced entrance jamb. A large slab lies to N, beside the monument.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993).
